If you elect lodging in excess of the reimbursement rate, you will be responsible for the overage. Jurors should use conventional lodging options (e.g. hotels, motels) for official travel. A public parking garage is located at 100 N. Church Street. The garage is situated between N. Church Street and Magnolia Street and is accessible from either street. Please bring $4 for your parking fee; the Court will reimburse you for parking. If you park in the garage, show your summons to the parking attendant, then place it on your dash. If you park at a metered space place your summons on your dash to avoid a ticket. We cannot reimburse you for parking tickets or towing fees.

The District of South Carolina is divided into four large jury areas which may require travel to a courthouse some distance from one's home. Since all jurors are selected randomly by computer, a person may be summoned to a courthouse which is not the closest Federal Courthouse to their home. Residing in one of the following counties makes you eligible to serve in Spartanburg.

Abbeville Greenville Newberry Spartanburg
Anderson Greenwood Oconee Union
Cherokee Laurens Pickens
Edgefield McCormick Saluda

If you have moved and no longer reside in one of the above counties, please send a letter to Clerk of Court, 901 Richland Street, Columbia, SC 29201 and you will be excused.
